We believe that almost everything rises and falls on leadership. Our ideal candidate profile for the Church Planting Residency would include men who are marked by the following:
- A Leadership ability that is evidenced by past performance
- An entrepreneurial spirit
- The ability and desire to “think outside the box”
- A commitment to a team approach to ministry
- A track record of responsibility
- A spirit of courage and confidence with a great sense of humility
- A proven communicator and teacher
- A passionate commitment to Jesus Christ and His vision, not a focus
on personal accolades - Teachability and a desire to learn
- A strong gospel-centered orientation, theology and life.
Scott Thomas of Acts 29 also listed some helpful characteristics of a church planter in his list of Entrepreneurial Aptitude Micro-Skills:
- Has demonstrated past successes in starting new ventures
- Is an innovative and strategic visionary
- 3. Is highly energetic and enthused about starting a new work
- 4. Shows ability to enlist others in new ventures
- 5. Evidences being a self-starter.
- 6. Has a willingness to work intensely for an extended period of time
